The murders of two black men and five Dallas police officers have left me with a heavy heart.

For one minute take away your hate, your position on guns, your fear, your racism, your politics and feel the grief of mothers and children.

Try to really imagine yourself getting that phone call, waking up day after day to a new and unfathomable loss and what it says about our country.

He continued: “Our profession is hurting. Dallas officers are hurting. We are heartbroken. There are no words to describe the atrocity that occurred to our city. All I know is that this must stop, this divisiveness between our police and our citizens.”
